Yvonnia Grandison

Funeral services for Mrs. Yvonnia Grandison will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. from Lincoln Street House of God.

General Elder Calvin Crenshaw will serve as officiating minister. Burial will follow in Sweet Home AME Zion Churchyard cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Ala., will be directing.

Yvonnia Grandison was born Aug. 1, 1952 in Pensacola, Fla., to the late Mr. West Grandison and Elder Exabell Grandison.

Yvonnia was educated in the Escambia County school system and grew up

attending The House Of God Church in Pensacola, Fla.

In 1998 she relocated to Greenville, Ala. Yvonnia was an outgoing person.  She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.

She met and married the late John “Boogie” Griffin.

She departed this life on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Westley Hicks; two sisters, Mary (James) Thomas and Annie M. (Samuel) Troxler; brother, Phillip Grandison; four aunts, Hazel  Browning, Lois Crenshaw, Marquita Crenshaw and Martha Hilson; uncle, Wiley Crenshaw; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a devoted friend Jimmy Coleman.
