Jeffrey Kenneth Branum a resident of Birmingham, Ala., and a former resident of Greenville, Ala., passed away on Dec. 22, 2015. Celebration of life services were held in Helena, Ala., on Jan. 2, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Branum, and his beloved grandmother, Ruby Mae Stringer. He is survived by his mother, Sybil Jones, his siblings, Ben Branum, Sonya Reese, and Kim Scarborough; his children, Caitlin and Connor Branum; and their mother, Deanna McCombs.
He was born in Greenville, Ala., on Oct. 7, 1957, and he spent over thirty years working for Southern Company as an engineer and project manager. His hobbies included driving fast cars, which won him the Pedal to the Metal award at the Mercedes AMG experience, and being outdoors, whether it was walking, running, climbing or shooting. He also loved cooking everything from juicy hamburgers to his award-winning cheesecake, and he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He will be sorely missed. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations would be mailed to Camp McDowell with “In Memory of Jeff Branum” noted.
