Two longtime local insurance companies have become one.

Norman Insurance Services has purchased Burkett Insurance. With the acquisition, a new company, Insurance Solutions Group of Greenville, has been formed.

“Our ultimate goal is to provide the very best insurance products and services to the people of Greenville, Butler County and the surrounding areas,” said co-owner Greg Wilkes. “We were able to do this by combining excellent people with top-notch insurance companies. At a time when so many insurance agencies are beginning to close their offices in smaller communities, we have taken the opposite approach. We live, work and go to church with our clients. Our children and grandchildren go to school and play sports together. When you have that claim, and we all will, who do you want to call — a 1-800 number or a person you know and trust?  We believe in our community and we’re putting our money, energy and time into being the best insurance office in town.”

Co-owner John Norman said the company’s clients will benefit from the merger with expanded services.

“This allows us to help our clients with anything financial,” he said.  “From a consumer standpoint, we will have even more carriers to write policies for home, auto, mobile home, jewelry, renters, boat, etc. Likewise for our commercial clients, we now have more options for business auto, liability, property, work comp and umbrella. Some may not realize that we also help our clients with insurance products for health, cancer, life and retirement planning.  We want to be the one-stop for all things financial for our community.”

The new company will operate out of the existing Norman Insurance Services location at 415 E. Commerce Street in Greenville. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
