Kristen Nicole Desedare

Miss Kristen Nicole Desedare, 21, a resident of Semmes, Ala., passed away on Nov. 1. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 6 from the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Weldon. Interment will follow in Ivy Creek Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Miss Desedare was preceded in death by her grandparents, Phillip and Verna Anderson. She is survived by her parents, James and Billie Anderson Desedare; sister, Kelsey Desedare; brother, Matthew (Nashann) Johnson; grandparents, James and Larcie Desedare, Sr.; aunt, Mary (John) Weaver; two uncles, Darryl Anderson and Phillip (Vicki) Desedare; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Active pallbearers will be Bryant Austin, Charles Fields, Christopher Weaver, Chase Anderson, Jamie Lee Pearson, Phillip Desedare, Kenny Scholl, Jerald Brown, and Matthew Desedare. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

 

Cummie Kate Hall Moman

Mrs. Cummie Kate Hall Moman, 85, a resident of Luverne passed away on Oct. 28. Funeral services were held Oct. 31 at the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Carson officiating. Interment followed in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Moman was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Moman; daughter, Teresa Grant; granddaughter, April D. Moore; parents, James and Margie Hall; sister Doris Hooks; brothers, Ferrell Hall, James C. Hall, and Ewell Hall; and son-in-law, Wayne McLeod. She is survived by four daughters, Mary S. McLeod, Sheila (Paul) Jones, Karen (Lamar) Battle, and Charlotte (Marvin) Blumentritt; son-in-law, Ricky L. Grant; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ray and Lorraine White, Wayne Williams, and Kate Holladay. Active pallbearers were Tim McLeod, Steve Battle, Randall Hill, Chris Grant, Michael Harris, and Gantt Pierce.

 

Jimmy Farion Pettus

Mr. Jimmy Farion Pettus, 55, a resident of Glenwood died Nov. 2 at his residence. Graveside services were held Nov. 4 at Providence Cemetery in Glenwood  with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Pettus was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Pettus and his mother, Mildred Rolling Sport.  Survivors include two brothers, Curtis (Donna) Pettus and Tony Pettus; three nieces, Regina Pettus, Margaret Williams, and Angie Adams; a nephew, Tony Pettus, Jr.; and several great nieces and nephews.

 

Gerald Edward White

Mr. Gerald Edward White, 65, a resident of Luverne passed away on Oct. 29. Funeral services were held on Oct. 31 from the gymnasium of Luverne High School with ministers Charles Sipper and John Dickinson officiating. Interment followed in Rock Hill Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Ducion and Margie Owens White; sister, Faye Swearinger; and two brothers, Bain White and Joe White. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Price White; three children, Margie (Walter) Gomillion, Angie (Danny) Taylor, and Tim (Deirdre) White; twelve grandchildren, Mallory and Kara Gomillion, Morgan, Bailey, Abbey, and Austin Taylor, Christopher, Chase, and Case White, Zoe and Zanna Bloodsworth, and Miranda Bottoms; four sisters, Sybil (Willie) Hardy, Louise (Charles) Simmons, Shirley (Guy) Simmons, and Sylvia (Mark) Grant; three brothers, Wayne White, Ray (Lorraine) White, and Raymond (Linda) White; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, George & Peggy Tranum and Butch & Phyllis Norman.
