FAITH COLUMN: Show compassion to those with scars

Have you ever had your foot cut or your finger sliced to the point where you needed stitches? It hurts! But it will eventually heal.

Afterwards, you may have a scar that will remind you, and others might see it.

On the other hand, we need to be aware of people who may have scars that are not visible.

People are sometimes hurt over the course of their lives. They may have had a bad divorce, suffered the death of a loved one or even a bad childhood. The pain leaves behind some deep emotional scars.

We have a real opportunity to display compassion for those who may have been hurt. Take time to see those around you. Just because everything looks good on the outside, doesn’t mean there isn’t a storm raging on the inside.
