Mrs. Iris Messick Wilkerson, age 92, a resident of Petrey, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, from the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Cliff Cobb and Greg Wilkes officiating.

Interment followed in Petrey Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by her husband, Perry J. Wilkerson; son, Ed Wilkerson; parents, George and Lilla Messick; and two brothers, Reynolds Messick and Alva Messick.

She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Wofford, Karen (Randy) Watts and Sherry (Chester) Singleton; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Russ Wilkerson, David Watts, Alan Wofford, Justin Singleton, Brad Watts and Jim Messick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Petrey United Methodist Church or to the Petrey Cemetery Fund, both may be sent to the care of Sue Beasley, 10511 Petrey Highway, Luverne, AL 36049.
