Mr. John F. “Bit” Wilkes, Sr., 74, a resident of Brantley, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015.

A memorial funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Turner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harry Driggers officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Wilkes is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Compton Wilkes; two children, John F. (Lymari) Wilkes and Sirran Wilkes; four grandchildren, John Wilkes, III, Nicole Wilkes, Margo Wilkes and Morgan Andrews; his great-grandson, Jake A. Wilkes; and his brother, Billy (Jerri) Wilkes.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home this morning from 9 a.m. until service time.
