Inaugural Camellia City Fest nears

Greenville will hold its first-ever Camellia City Fest, a downtown event full of entertainment, arts and crafts and food, on March 14.

Greenville will hold its first-ever Camellia City Fest, a downtown event full of entertainment, arts and crafts and food, on March 14.

Camellia City Fest, the first-ever downtown event, is set to take place Sat., March 14.  Visitors can expect a fun-filled, family-friendly event full of musical entertainment, vendors, arts and crafts, food and beverages.

Festivities begin at 9 a.m. and last until 5 p.m.   Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and event organizer Francine Wasden, said there will be something for everyone at the event.

“The day will be full of fun with kids activities, clowns and special appearances by Disney characters,” Wasden said.

Musical entertainment by 10/6 Upstairs Acoustic will take place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in from of City Hall, followed with music from Caleb Luckie from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.  The event will also feature an antique car show.

Wasden said that the chamber will have Camellia City Fest T-Shirts available for purchase, as well as popcorn and lemonade.

Other local food vendors include Bush’s Barbecue and the YMCA.
