Era Merle Massey Thaggard

Mrs. Era Merle Massey Thaggard, age 95, died Sun., Dec. 7, 2014.

Funeral services will be held today, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Hogwood officiating. Interment will follow in Rutledge Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Thaggard was a resident of Rutledge, but the last few years of her life were spent at Lake Haven Assisted Living Facility in Luverne. She and her late husband, Elmer “Iny” Thaggard, owned and operated T & B Motor Company, City Finance Company and Thaggard Mercantile for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Thaggard is survived by two daughters, Linda (Brooks) Flint and Janice (Felix) Norman; four grandchildren, Jarrett (Elizabeth) Flint, Jud (Becky) Flint, Sloan (Tommy) Lusk, and Lindsay (Andy) Kimbro; and eight great-grandchildren, Matthew Flint, Alex King, Morgan King, Hannah Flint, Emery Lusk, Thomas Lusk, Andrew Kimbro and Katherine Kimbro.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time.
