The Butler County Commission for Economic Development and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the second annual Built in Butler County Thursday.

The purpose for the event is simple – educate the public about the products produced in Butler County.

“The 2014 event will feature nearly 20 industries and businesses,” said Rod Cater, chairman of the event. “Also, a number of state departments and utilities that are instrumental in the economic development vitality of our county and state will be present. All organizations will have representatives and materials on hand to demonstrate what they do, how they do it and why they do it.”

Sophomores from all four high schools in the county will visit the participants’ booths. At 3 p.m., the event will be opened to the public.

Some of the companies that will be taking part are Montgomery Technology, Ozark Materials, Coastal Forest Products and Hwashin America.

The event, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 6 p.m., will be held at the Butler County Fairgrounds.
