Calvin Herbert

Mr. Calvin Herbert, a former resident of Greenville, Ala., died on Sept. 6 in Detroit, Mich. He was born March 18, 1941, to Sam Herbert Jr. and Mary Brown Herbert in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willie E. Herbert and James Herbert, and one sister, Helen Herbert Parker. He attended school at Lomax Hannon in Greenville. In 1959 he went to Detroit where he worked as an electrician. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving son, Dlivia Herbert, Detroit; two sisters, Margaret (Maurice) Spencer, Birmingham, Ala., and minister Genetta (Gilbert) Caldwell, Columbus, Ga.; three brothers, Sam (Beulah) Herbert III, North Carolina, Gene (Shannon) Herbert, Greenville, and Douglas (Charlotte) Herbert, Detroit; a loving and devoted niece and caretaker, Anita (Roy) Crouch, Detroit; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
