Mrs. Marian Lane Thompson Ballard, age 85 of Brewton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at her Terry Drive residence.

Mrs. Ballard was born in Luverne and had been a resident of Brewton since 1956. She was a 1960 graduate of Troy University. She retired as an Elementary School Teacher with the Brewton City Schools after 35 years of dedicated service.

She was a member of Brewton First Baptist Church. Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Ballard; great-grandson, Bryson Ballard; and a daughter-in-law, Lana Ballard.

She is survived by two sons, Travis Ballard of Navarre, Fla., and Warren (Ron Ray) Ballard of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Atricia Warr of Tallahassee, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brooks Ballard, Todd Ballard and Jason Warr; two great-grandchildren, Brynlee Ballard and Kailey Warr.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Emmaus Cemetery in Luverne, AL with Rev. Bob Yow officiating.

Visitation will be held a Craver’s Funeral Home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brewton First Baptist Church or Covenant Hospice of Brewton.
