According to Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden, authorities received a call just after 2 a.m. of a man being shot. The incident occurred on Poole Road.

“The subject had been shot twice,” Harden said. “We’ve talked with him, and also witnesses that were on the scene. We’re still in the process of conducting our investigation.”

Harden declined to release the name of the man who had been shot or the person who fired the shots until investigators can gather more information about the incident.

“Right now there’s just not a lot we can say,” he said.

The man who was shot was transported to L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital and later transferred to a Montgomery hospital where he was treated and released.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. Friday, paramedics were called to treat the suspect after his gunshot wound began to bleed while he was at the Butler County Courthouse. He was taken by ambulance to L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital.
