Mr. Billy Jack Beck, 73, a resident of Lapine, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Francisco and Rev. Parker Bowen officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Beck was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mallie Davis Beck; a sister, Althea Beck Fraser; and a brother, Bobby Ray Beck. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Donna Sandlin Beck; three children, Teresa (Mickey) Jacobs, Lisa (Scott) Rials and Melvin Thomas Beck; six grandchildren, Ryne Rials, Kayla Rials, Reid Rials, Aaron Jacobs, Marley Jacobs and Logan Beck; five sisters, Agnes Moncrief, Cara Stafford, Eloise (Art) Clark, Ginni (Larry) Shannon and Elaine Granzow; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active and honorary pallbearers were members of the Highland Home Baptist Church Brotherhood.
