Kennadee Smith has been chosen to represent Georgiana School at the 2014 session of American Legion Auxiliary Alabama Girls State, held on the campus of the University of Alabama.

For one week, she will become a citizen of an imaginary state, taking part in the political life of her community, primarily through campaigning for and electing city, county, and state offices. She will learn the operation of government by participating in party caucuses and through the election process.

Well-known speakers and other state, county, and city officials are expected to visit and enlighten the young women on their civic responsibilities.

Smith plans to campaign for the office of lieutenant governor.

She will speak to her sponsoring organization, the Three Arts Club of Georgiana, and to other organizations upon invitation, about her experiences at American Legion Auxiliary Alabama Girls State.

In her high school and community, Smith is also involved with Georgiana’s varsity basketball team and cheer squad, the Focus Group, FBLA, Yearbook Staff, Drama Club, the captain of Scholars Bowl, Math Team, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society. She is also a student ambassador.

Smith is the daughter of LeNicki Moore and the granddaughter of Willie and Myra Smith.
