Beginning summer semester 2014, LBW Community College students will have a new option for paying tuition and fees.

“We realize it is sometimes difficult for some of our students to be able to pay the entire amount due prior to the beginning of a semester,” said LBWCC President Dr. Herb Riedel. “That is why we decided to partner with Nelnet Business Solutions (NBS) in offering students the opportunity to set up a plan to pay in installments.”

The tuition payment plan breaks down the total tuition balance into affordable monthly payments, he said.

“There’s no interest, payment options are flexible, setup fees are affordable, and it’s easy to enroll online,” Riedel said.

This is not considered “financial aid,” but rather an opportunity for students to contract directly with NBS to set up payment installments, he said.

“The amount charged by the company for this service and any down payment requirement depends on how early the student sets up an account with them and the number of payments the student selects,” Riedel said.

Charges in $5 increments range from $30 to $40 each semester and are nonrefundable. Students can select up to a total of four payments or as few as one.

“Students should also be aware that the company will process all down payments and enrollment fees immediately, and the maximum amount a student can budget on the payment plan each semester is the full amount of tuition and fees,” Riedel said.

The online application will be available beginning April 11, 2014, through the College website at www.lbwcc.edu. For more information, call 334-222-6591 and ask for Student Services.
