Tigers face undefeated Trojans

Just moments after the final horn sounded on Greenville High School’s win over Citronelle High School last Friday, third-year head coach Earnest Hill began to shift his team’s focus to Charles Henderson High School.
“They have a good team,” Hill said. “They’re undefeated, and they are going to come in here expecting to win. We need to win that game.”
The Trojans, ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, have outscored their opponents 151-56 through the first four weeks of the season, including a 56-0 win over Alabama Christian last week.
A key for the Tigers (2-2, 2-1 Class 5A, Region 3) will be finding a way to slow the Trojans’ high-powered offense down.
Hill believes last week’s 21-14 win over the Wildcats gave his team a shot of confidence following a disappointing 49-6 loss to powerhouse Jackson High School a week earlier.
“I hope that gives our kids some confidence,” Hill said. “They showed (Friday) that we can stop people when we have to, and that we can score when we have to.”
Greenville and Charles Henderson will square off Friday at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
