Wendell Merritt, 63, a resident of McKenzie, Ala., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at New Home Cemetery in McKenzie with Rev. Clifton Morris officiating and Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing arrangements. The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 24 at New Home Church from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Mr. Merritt is survived by his wife, Betty Merritt, McKenzie; daughter, Angie Merritt, McKenzie; son, Wendell Hayward Merritt, Red Level, Ala.; brothers, David Issac Merritt, Jr., and Leotis Merritt, both of McKenzie; granddaughter, Bella Mae Merritt, Red Level; grandsons, Devon Armstrong and Landon Armstrong, both of McKenzie.
