Lois G. McCarter reunited with her with her husband, JC McCarter, at the gates of Heaven on Tuesday afternoon, July 16th.  She was surrounded by the love of her family when she passed of natural causes at the residence of her granddaughter where she resided the past three years.  Mrs. McCarter was born and raised in McKenzie, but lived in Mobile the majority of her life. She returned to McKenzie for her retirement.  She was employed at Ingall’s in Pascagoula, Miss., where she was the supervisor of finances/shipbuilding for the US Navy for more than 30 years.  Mrs. McCarter was a devout Christian and a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church while living in Mobile, and then was a member and Bible school teacher at New Home Baptist Church in McKenzie.  She is now with her sister, Johnnie Browder, and left behind a brother, TJ Gomillion.  She is also survived by her two children, her daughter, Sandra (Tom) Taylor and her son, Cheyney (Jimmi) McCarter.  She has five grandchildren, Steven Baxley, Samantha Baxley, Darla McCarter, Tommy Taylor and Zac McCarter; and three great-daughters, Alyssa O’Neal, Jocelyn Taylor & Kaeley Taylor, and nieces, nephews and many cousins.
