Tim and Kathy Dowdy, owners of The Camellia House Bed & Breakfast and Mainstreet Sweets, recently returned from an eight-day concert tour in Southern Ireland.

They traveled with Chorale II, a chorus based in Atlanta.

Kathy was the associate director and played piano on a couple of pieces.  Tim was the logistics manager and one of the soloists.

Their itinerary included Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Connemara, Killarney, Cork, Waterford, and Kilkenny, with performances in the Gothic Church in Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, and The Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas in Galway. They also performed in St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral in Cork, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin.

Some of the sites they visited were the Ring of Kerry in Killarney, Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone, Waterford and the Wicklow Mountains, as well as Trinity College and the Book of Kells (one of the oldest manuscripts of the four gospels known to exist today).

One of the highlights of the trip was their visit to the Waterford Crystal Factory where they were able to see a Waterford Crystal Pepsi Bottle, and a copy of the BCS championship trophy.

Tim and Kathy said were honored to represent Luverne, and the United States in this successful concert tour.
