Neacie Mae Sims Brewer

Neacie Mae Sims Brewer, 96, a resident of Pigeon Creek, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.  Mrs. Brewer, the daughter of the late Pinkney Oliver Sims and Dellia Golden Sims, was born Sept. 21, 1916. Visitation will be Saturday, May 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Brantley, Ala., with Brother Dale Norris and Charles Phillips officiating and Dunklin & Daniels directing. The burial will follow immediately after service in the church cemetery. Mrs. Brewer was an active church member for 84 years at Pleasant Home Baptist Church where she held numerous church positions and received a dedication plague in October of 2006 for her long years of services. She was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Star # 197 Greenville Chapter. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jackson (Jack) Brewer; three brothers, Claude Wilton Sims, Hubert Edmond Sims, Wilton Taylor; four sisters, Mrs. Trudy Jones, Mrs. Ola Golson, Mrs. Tula Brooks and Ruby Taylor Powell. She is survived by four daughters, Betty (John) Wood, Shirley Richardson, Janice (Billy) Carpenter, Jackie (Steve) Hewitt; 10 grandchildren, Wetzel (Theresa)Wood, Nancy (Green) Rives, Travis Heartsill, Kent (Trisha) Layton, Valerie McLain, Daphne King, Chad Cain, Ashley (Mathew) Conway, Russell Sherling and Jack Dillon Hewitt; eight great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Serving as pallbearers are Tony Wood, Wayne Jones, Randall Sims, Clay Granger Butch Sims and Walter Brewer.
