Former Butler County Commissioner Jimmy Lee Crum departed this life on Dec. 1, 2012, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Jimmy Lee was born on Dec. 29, 1939, in Greenville, Ala., to Minnie Lee and Teate Crum, who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his brother Johnny Lee Crum, and his sister Heloise Crum. He attended Greenville Training School. He was a member of Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church #2.
Jimmy Lee was united in marriage to Dorothy Little on Oct. 15, 1960. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Crum; sons Kenneth of Atlanta, Harry (Samantha) of Orrville, Ala., and Jimmy Leon of Atlanta; daughter Tamika of Jackson, Ala.; grandchildren, Brandon Price-Crum, Nealy Cecile McGhee-Crum, Jeremy Austin Crum, Shannon Nicole Crum, Brian Christopher Crum, Grace Alexis Burns, Daniel Sherard Burns, Gabrielle Elise Burns, and Joshua Annan Crum. Also surviving are his sister Ruby Crum-Lee of Birmingham, Ala., brothers Teate Jr. (Anna) of Mobile, Ala., Mack (Jessie) of Montgomery, Charlie Will (Barbara) of Montgomery; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
