Two Butler County men and a woman have been arrested following an assault that took place in Georgiana on Oct. 24.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kervin Dewayne Mitchell, 30, Gerald Glenn Smith, 49, and Jacquelin Marie McCombs, 31, and charged them with third-degree burglary, according to Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden. McCombs and Mitchell were also charged with assault, third degree.

“It was a burglary of an occupied dwelling,” Harden said. “These three people knocked in the door and came in on the homeowners and assaulted them,” Harden said. “The suspects knew the people in the house.”

According to Harden the incident occurred between 11:30 p.m. and midnight. Deputies apprehended the suspects shortly after the break in, according to Harden.
