When Ryan Williams arrived in Greenville in December of 2010, he knew he had some work to do.

Williams, who had been working at the Altha Farmers Cooperative in Marianna, Fla., came to the Camellia City to take the helm of the Quality Cooperative, which had seen a decline in business in recent years.

In less than two years, Williams and his staff have transformed the store through the addition of new product lines and an increased emphasis on customer service.

At the Alabama Farmers Cooperative’s annual managers meeting in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Aug. 16-18, Williams was presented with the first ever Turn Around Award.

“We’ve made changes to our product line and tried to be more competitive in our pricing, and the community’s response has been good,” Williams said. “We’ve really focused on our customer service and I think that’s made a difference.”

Williams credited assistant manager Dustin Harris, Leon Coleman, Jerry Ball and Judy Stringer for helping the store earn the award.
