Mollie R. Erickson, age 70, of Waterman, Ill., passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Ill.  She was born on February 20, 1942 in Glenwood, Ala. the daughter of Robert Daniel “RD” and Lucille (Tate) Witherington.

Mollie was united in marriage on March 24, 1984 in Waterman, Ill. to Mr. Richard Erickson and they spent the next 28 happy years of their lives together.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Erickson had been for over 50 years a member of the Waterman Presbyterian Church in Waterman, Ill.  Mollie was formerly employed for over 25 years by the United States Post Office in DeKalb, Ill.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Erickson of Waterman, Ill; her children, Stanley “Al” (Susan) Peterson of Fishers, Ind., and Elizabeth (Richard) Cruise of Shabbona, Ill.; her grandchildren, Richard M. and Scott A. Cruise  and Sydney  Ann and Sarah Denise Peterson; her siblings, Dan (Maureen) Witherington of New Port Richey, Fla., Robert “Bob” Witherington of Brantley, Ala., Sylvia (Glynn) Stringer of Honoraville, Ala., and Larry (Cindy) Witherington of Pinellas Park, Fla.; her mother-in-law, Grace Erickson of Waterman, Ill.; her brother-in-law,  Donald (Mary Ann) Erickson of Shabbona, Ill.;  many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “RD” and Lucille Witherington; her sister-in-law, Ann Witherington; an infant granddaughter; and her father-in-law, Harold Erickson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St., Waterman, Ill..  Interment will follow in the North Clinton Cemetery in Waterman, Ill.

Friends may visit from 4 until 8 p.m. August 1, 2012 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home in Waterman.
