Alison Lewis was accepted into the Father Ryan Chapter, No. 338, United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) at the chapter’s May 25 meeting. The late Lewis Malone Ayer, Jr., a signee of the South Carolina Secession Proclamation and a representative for South Carolina in both sessions of the Confederate Congress, is Lewis’ UDC ancestor.
