Butler County will take ownership of approximately an acre of land behind the Butler County Correctional Facility.

At its April meeting, the Butler County Commission voted to accept a donation of a plot of land from Boyd Foster, Linda Rainey, Joan Peavy and Jean Harron. The land backs up to the correctional facility and fronts Bell Street.

“The Boyd Foster family had no plans to do anything with the property, and wanted to donate it to the county,” County attorney Calvin Poole said. “The addition of the land will even out the county’s ownership back there.”
