The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a suspect in a home invasion over the weekend in north Crenshaw County.

Investigator Ronnie White said that shortly after midnight Saturday morning, a 66-year-old female was awakened by a black male who had broken into her home through the back door.

White said the suspect, who was on foot, raped and beat the woman before taking some of her money and forcing her into her vehicle.
