Sheriff Kenny Harden said he and his officers are in the process of determining exactly what equipment will be purchased.

“We haven’t etched it in stone what we’re getting, but we’re looking at what we need the most,” Harden said.

Harden did the say the department would be purchasing a desk for one of the deputies.

Harden said that his department has not purchased new equipment in the last two years, and that any extra funding is greatly appreciated.

“It means a lot,” Harden said. “We have a budget and with the economy the way it is, we’ve had limited funding in the past two years,” Harden said. “We’re looking at it very closely and spending it wisely on what would benefit this department for serving the county better.”
