Hospital gives $10K to boosters

The Greenville High School athletic booster club got a big boost Tuesday.
L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital presented Tiger Pride, the school’s athletic booster club, with a $10,000 check.
L.V. Stabler Director of Business Development David Norell said the money will go toward updating the sound system at Tiger Stadium. He also said this is the first donation of this kind the hospital has made.
Greenville High School athletics director and head football coach Earnest Hill said the sound system has already been paid for, but this money will go back into the booster club fund to replace the money that was spent.
L.V. Stabler Chief Executive Officer Jason Studley said the hospital started a sports medicine program last year and that Hill worked and supported that program.
Hill said on behalf of the coaches, staff and students, he could not be more appreciative of the community giving to the booster club.
“The biggest thing is we’re very appreciative of the community and all the people that are here,” Hill said.
“It’s a big thing when we get that type of money.”
Hill said the booster club is instrumental to the school’s athletics program.
“A lot of times people don’t know that that money goes back to the kids with pregame and postgame meals, charter buses and camps for the summer, and a lot of the money comes from our booster club.”
