Ms. Shirley Gaffney funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from Greenwood COGIC. Elder LoEarl Flower, Pastor. Rev. Mark Hawkins officiating  Inurnment will take place with Southern Memorial Crematorium. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Alabama directing. Shirley was born in Greenville, Alabama on March 3, 1953 to the late Ida Mae Mallory and Willie James Gaffney. She lived a life fulfilled with love and joy. She accepted Christ at an early age. Shirley attended Greenville High School in Greenville, Alabama. Later she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, were she was devoted to raising her daughter and caring for her family. She was a giving and compassionate person, always putting the needs of others before her own. She has touched the lives of many and the memories will forever live on. A loving daughter, Tina Gaffney and two brothers, Willie Fred Gaffney and Douglas Hicks, preceded her in death.. Shirley leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Tahira N. Gaffney-Williams; son-in-law, Fredrick Williams; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nya Williams of Prattville, Alabama; siblings, Willie James Gaffney, Cleveland, OH, Lorraine Smith (Sylvester), Robert Hayes, both of Greenville, AL, Levi Hicks, Lee Frank Hicks,, both of  Cleveland, OH, Kathleen Hicks, Greenville, AL, Emma Hare,    Cleveland, OH, Linda Gaffney-Burns (Donnell), Birmingham, AL, Veronica Mallory, Linda Gaffney, both of Cleveland, OH, Joseph Gaffney (Felecia), Canton, OH, Renee Gaffney, Kevin Gaffney, both of Cleveland, OH, and Willetta Roberts (Perry) Cleveland, OH; and a host of family and friends.
