Gene C. Gibson has announced his intent to seek a seat on the Butler County Commission.

Gibson, who will run as a Democrat, is seeking the District 3 seat. The seat is currently held by Frank Hickman.

“If elected, I want to move forward, not dwell on the past and what we could have been done differently,” Gibson said. “Jobs, funding for Butler County roads and the Sheriff’s Office will be a priority if elected. It will take all of us working together and in doing so we can make a tremendous difference in Butler County.”

Gibson is a member of Spring Hill Methodist Church. He also serves as Fire Chief of the Searcy Volunteer Fire Department. He is a member of the Cattlemen’s Association, the Butler County Farmers Federation, and serves as Vice Chairman of Butler County E-911.
