Crowne Health Care seeks help from community

Crowne Health Care has found a new way to raise money to bring joy to patients.

It has created a calendar to sell to the community that is full of pictures of residents to help fund off-site outings for residents, while also providing needed funds to assist residents who are without family in purchasing necessary items.

“The calendar is a fundraiser, and the money that we raise will be used for the residents to go on outside events like to the zoo or out to eat or to a movie,” Sandra Medley, director of social services said.

The colorful and “tongue and cheek” calendar is full of residents participating in activities at Crowne.

“We wanted to do something fun that wasn’t a typical calendar and to make it fun for the residents,” Medley said.

The calendars are $10 and are being sold at Crowne. Medley said they ordered more than 100 calendars but she expects to order more.

“If we have a resident who doesn’t have any family, if they need some personal items like clothing, the money will be used to help with that also.”
