Qualifying for local elections has ended with only one county race being contested.

Johnny Nichols, chairman of the Crenshaw County Democratic Executive Committee, reported that the following candidates qualified as Democrats for the primary elections:

Judge of Probate: Jim Perdue

County School Board, District 1: Ronald Rhodes

County School Board, District 3: Steve Sanders

County School Board, District 5: Bertha Jones

Susie Butts, chairman of the county’s Republic Party, reported that only one local candidate qualified as a Republican.

Judge of Probate: Ronnie Hudson

The state’s primary elections are set for Tuesday, March 13, 2012, and the general election will follow on Nov. 6, 2012.
