Lady Eagles top Tuscaloosa, Hooper

Fort Dale Academy’s Anne Matthews scored 17 points to lead the Lady Eagles to a 43-32 win against Tuscaloosa Academy Saturday in Greenville.

Matthews did the bulk of her damage from beyond the 3-point arc. She was 4-of-5 from behind the 3-point line. Matthews also hit 5-of-13 attempts from the field, and dished out three assists and snagged six rebounds.

Fort Dale’s Barrett Leverette scored 10 points on the strength of a 7-for-8 effort from the free-throw line. Mary Sanford Perdue scored eight points, and hit a pair of 3-pointers. As a team, the Lady Eagles (13-10, 7-1) were 7-for-16 from 3-point range in the contest.

Fort Dale 51, Hooper 32

Fort Dale topped Hooper Academy 51-32 Friday night.

Leverette scored 18 points to pace Fort Dale in the win. Matthews chipped in 14 points and nine assists, while Nedra Toulmin Crosby added nine points.
