The Greenville Police Department is investigating the theft of three vehicles from an area car dealership.
According to authorities, the three vehicles were stolen from Boutwell Auto Sales between midnight and 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 27.
“Basically, they broke in the front door and got some keys that were stored in the office and took three vehicles that were parked outside,” Lt. Justin Lovvorn said.
According to Lovvorn, a 2006 Chrysler with chrome rims, a red 1999 Ford pickup and a green 2004 Ford pickup were stolen from the lot. Currently, the red 1999 Ford pickup is the only one that has been recovered.
“We have recovered it and have a suspect on that and we’re attempting to locate and have connection with the others and have gotten information as where the others are right now,” Lovvorn said.
Lovvorn said there are some leads but it is still under investigation.
“We basically have gotten some leads, and we’re still following them through to see if they’re going to pan out,” Lovvorn said. “We have been working on it and developing the case, and we are starting to get somewhere with it.”
