Gladys Armstrong Forrest

A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Greenville, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at the age of 90 at her home with family and her loving pets Sam and Sandy.  She was retired from Kroger’s Grocery. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, from 9 AM until funeral service at 10 AM. Internment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park 4000 Monroe Hwy 165, Ball, LA 71405. She is survived by her daughter in law, Janet Herrod Forrest; two grandsons, Raymond B. Forrest and Jeffery A. Forrest, and wife, Michelle; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Haley Forrest, and their mother, Valarie Devilier; siblings in law, Jim and Marilyn Forrest, Bobby Forrest, Bill and Ruth Forrest, Betty Lavespere, and Vicky Forrest; Nieces and Nephews, Minnie Ruth Abrahamson, Betty Clark, Myrtle Simmons and Tommy Fleming, and several other loving nieces and nephews. Caregivers, Minnie Ruth Abrahamson, Melissa Caldwell, Kay Davis, and Marilyn Forrest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond O. Forrest, Sr.; parents, Jessie and Ruth Massey Armstrong; son, Raymond “Sonny” O. Forrest, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Fleming and husband, Grover, and Ollie Horton; and siblings in law, Gene Lavespere, Hilda Forrest, and Jerry Forrest. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Joseph Hospice, Veterans Administration, or Friends of LSU Rural Life Museum.
