Santa made an early visit Tuesday to Beeland Park Recreation Center for the Greenville Kiwanis Club’s annual Christmas party.  Kiwanis, in conjunction with Butler County Department of Human Resources, brought more than a dozen children and families together for lunch catered by Nanny’s Fine Dining and a surprise visit from Santa.

Each child took their turn sitting in Santa’s lap and sharing their Christmas list with Jolly St. Nick.  Once they hopped off Santa’s knee, special little helpers were waiting to hand the children a bag full of presents.

“We would like to thank everyone for their participation.  We especially enjoy the children and the excitement they bring,” said Chairman of Community Christmas Program, Susan Rhodes. “We are happy to be able to do this each year.”

Kiwanis members and Greenville High School Key Club did all of the shopping for the children, and the GHS Key Club wrapped them for delivery. In addition, WalMart provided the program with $1,000 donation to assist with the presents, clothes and many other items included in their gift bags.
