Crenshaw County residents looking to get a scare this October can get one at Twysted Souls’ “Quarantine” near Dozier.

The haunted walking trail is located on Odom Loop Road, and will be open every Friday and Saturday this month.

“We’ve got 10 ‘rooms’ on the trail,” said Leah Meeks, who is one of the organizers of the event.

Visitors can expect to run into zombies, witches, clowns, hillbillies and more on the trail.

“It’s an at-your-own-pace walkthrough, and there are no guides,” Meeks said.

The trail is clearly marked with yellow caution tape on both sides, she added.

“We started working on this in early September,” said Meeks, who has gotten advice from Clint Miller, who has operated a haunted house and walking trail for several years. “Clint is a friend, and he e-mailed us a list of ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ for haunted walking trails.”

Hours of operation are 7 p.m. until on Friday and Saturday nights, and Quarantine will be open on Halloween night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The cost of admission is $5, and 15 percent of the profits will be donated to Meredith’s Miracles.

There will also be a canned food drive this weekend. Visitors can bring canned goods and receive up to $2 off the price of admission.

“Quarantine” is located on Odom Loop Road west of Dozier. From Dozier, drive south on Highway 29 and take a right on Good Hope Church Road. At the end of Good Hope Church Road, take a left and Odom Loop will be immediately on the right.

Signs are also posted around the area.
