Mae Ayers Murphy

Mae Ayers Murphy, born December 7, 1921, in Bedford County, Va., died October 2, 2011, Birmingham, AL; married Staff Sgt. Renford Murphy and moved to Greenville, AL, in 1946. She loved and trusted Jesus as her Savior and Lord and longed for heaven. God graciously granted her heart’s desire, and her faith is now sight. She is survived by son Jim “Bob” (Debbie), with grandson Jason (Jessica), and great-grandchildren, Con, William, and Cotton; by son, Allan (Mary), with grandson Josh (Betsy), with granddaughter Jane Draper (Bryan), and great-grandsons Jordan and Jace, and with grandson John (Brittany). She is also survived by sisters, Viola Moore, Coleen Duke (Mickey), Lois Young, and Joyce Mayhew (Mahlon), and by brother L.J. Ayers (Nancy). She also has many inlaws, cousins, friends, and coworkers from her years of work at Boss Manufacturing, Greenville. Hard working to the end, Mrs. Murphy helped her family, even after moving to be with them in 2007. Her faith now sight will be celebrated in a Greenville funeral at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home, Saturday, October 8, at 11 am, after visitation from 9 until 11, and in a Birmingham memorial service, 4 pm, at North Shelby Baptist, 4100 Beicher Drive, Birmingham 35242.  Mrs. Murphy will be interred in Sunrise Memorial Park in Greenville, AL.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your church or to the building program of North Shelby Baptist.  For online condolences, please visit:  www.dunklinanddanielsfh.com.
