Imogene “Jean” Cook Bass

Imogene “Jean” Cook Bass, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 8, 2011. Jean was born on September 29, 1932 in Midland City, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Fletcher J. “Billy Joe” Bass.
She is survived by Daughter, Cathy (Sam) Cates, Fort Deposit, Alabama; two Sons, Mike Bass, Georgiana, Alabama, and Stephen (Virginia) Bass, Lincoln, Alabama; Grandchildren, Bill Cates, Ben (Courtney) Cates, Jamie Bass, Jacob Bass, Cody Burkett, Carmen Bozeman, and Caitlin Bozeman; one Great Grand Child, Hannah Grace Cates. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Love’s Way Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. with services following. Burial will be in Love’s Way Methodist Church Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home, Georgiana, Al. directing. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Earl Bridges, Rev. Allen Stephenson, and Rev. Jim Wilson. Pallbearers will be Gary Bridges, Tony Bridges, Bill Cates, Ben Cates, Jimmy Kelley, and Ed Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be the congregation of Love’s Way, Judson Garner, Charles Williams, Bryant Blackmon, and Shirley Whittington. The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice for the excellent care they provided. Special thanks are extended to Donna Godwin, Mandy McDaniel, Chaplain Jim Wilson, Linda Hall, and to her faithful sitter, Shirley Whittington.
