Greenville native named Capitol Hill coordinator

Greenville native Albert Stewart was recently selected to serve as Intelligence Liaison and Capitol Hill coordinator for the Legislative Affairs Office.

The Legislative Affairs Office is responsible for release of intelligence products from the 16 intelligence agencies to Congress.

Stewart previously served as senior liaison to Capitol Hill for the Defense Intelligence Agency of Washington, D.C. He assumed his new duties on July 31.

Stewart is a former U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, and retired from active duty in 2008 after serving for 24 years.

He earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Alabama in 1986.

He also holds a Master’s of Science degree in administration from Central Michigan University and a Masters of Arts in economics from the University of Oklahoma.

Stewart is a 1981 graduate of Greenville High School and is the son of Gennie and Clattie (deceased) Stewart of Greenville.  He is married to Lydia (Crenshaw) Stewart of Birmingham, and they have three children, Alyson (21), Timothy (19) and Jordan (15).
