William “Dewayne” Leach

William “Dewayne” Leach, 64, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011, at his home in Panama City, Fla., after an extended illness caused from cancer and multiple strokes.  Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana, Ala., on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at 2 p.m. with Mark Sherman, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Welcome Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana, Ala., directing.  Dewayne was born on November 14, 1946, in McKenzie, Ala., to parents William and Frances Leach.  He worked many years for Crimson Enterprises supervising Air Force housing.  Afterwards, he returned to the McKenzie, Ala., area for a brief period of time and became a member of Beat 8 Fire Department where he received many awards.  Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Leach and by twin infant sons.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Brown Revis Leach, Panama City, Fla.; daughters, Monica (Tom) Wilson, Panama City, Fla., and Juanita (Jimmy) Watson, Andalusia, Ala.; son: Gregory Dewayne Leach, Andalusia, Ala.; step-daughters, Dena (Brian) Meeker, Panama City, Fla., and Donna Gonzalos, Stratford, Okla.; step-sons, Danny (Sue) Revis, Panama City, Fla., and Richard (Maria) Revis, Blue Mound, Texas; sisters, Louise Sherman and Deborah (Roy) Salter, both of Evergreen, Ala., Wanda Sherman, Frisco City, Ala., and Patricia (Gary) Coleman, Castleberry, Ala.; brothers, David (Irma) Leach, Red Level, Ala., and Gary (Marie) Leach, Evergreen, Ala.; five grandchildren and 13 step-grandchildren.  In addition, Mr. Leach is survived by his cat “Zero.”  Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from noon until funeral time.  Online condolences may be made at www.johnsongeorgiana.com.
