Andrew Dale Newton, a longtime Montgomery resident, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the age of 76. Mr. Newton served in the 82nd Airborne Unit from 1952-1955, returning to Greenville, Ala., he met and married the love of this life, Mae Myrick, celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary this past June. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jamie L. Newton and Gretel Cox Newton; and his brother, Kenneth Dewayne Newton. He is survived by his wife, Mae Newton; his sons, James Allen (Brenda) Newton and Michael David Newton; and five grandchildren, Nathanael Allen Newton, Courtney Rae Newton, Zachary Reed Newton, Rachel Ann Newton and Rebekah Renee Newton; sister, Karen (Lonnie) Newton; and brother, Henry L. (Jean) Newton. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
