Dorothy Nell Mack

Dorothy Nell “Sister” Mack, 69, was a resident and native of Greenville, but lived the majority of her life in the Bronx, NY.

God called Dorothy Nell home on April 20, 2011 after a long illness. Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. from Zion Rest Cemetery. Committal by Brother James Daniels with Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville directing.

She dedicated her life to educating others. For years she worked with the tough youth of the Bronx until her retirement. Even when she was no longer a teacher, she was always educating others about life.

Although she never had the liberty of bearing children, she was a mother to all. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Timothy Mack of Bronx, NY; her sisters Annie Steele of Greenville, Mary Barganier of Clarksville, Tenn.’, Kate Hardee of Birmingham and Joyce Jones of Montgomery; her devoted nieces Edna Frank, Sophia Ruffin, both of Raceland, La. And Stephanie Burnette of Phenix City and longtime friend Inez of Greenville, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Pearl Scott Frank Jones and Van “Bill” Frank; stepfather Gladys “Stone” Jones, her sister, Mary C. “Bonnie” Goldsmith and her brothers, Victor “Randy ” Jones and Ollie Yeldell.
