The Greenville Tigers will be heading to a game three, after splitting a double-header match with Chilton County Friday night.

Greenville won game one 4-0, with pitcher Raymond Moody pitching a no-hitter shutout.

Moody proved too hot to handle, striking out 14 batters, and pitching seven innings.

After Nick Davis reached on a walk, Moody knocked in a 2-run homer to jump to a 2-0 lead. A string of singles from Jeremy McGinty, Ozell Carter and Rush Nimmer picked up another run, with Nimmer getting credit for 1 RBI. Harper Vinson followed with a double, for one RBI and the final run of the game.

For the match, Nimmer and McGinty both hit 2 for 3, and Vinson and Moody both hit 1 for 3.

Game two, however, went to Chilton County despite Greenville leading the game until the fifth inning. The Tigers fell, 7-4.

Rush Nimmer was saddled with the loss, and struckout 5 for the night.

At the end of the fourth inning,  GHS lead 3-1. A few walks and a spree of hits later, Chilton County jumped back into the game and didn’t look back.

“It wasn’t our best game,” said head coach Brad Horn. “We left the bases loaded twice, once in the first inning.”

The loss pushes the series to a tiebreaker that will be played tomorrow at 1 p.m. The winner of tommorrow’s game will advance to round two.
