Wavely Guy Spears, age 80, born January 17, 1931, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Providence Hospital.  Mr. Spears was a native of Crenshaw County and a resident of Jackson. He was a retired foreman with Boise Saw Mill and was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by sons Tommy Spears of Mobile and Christopher Spears of Weston, Mo.;

A daughter, Shirley Chandler of Jackson; a brother, Lester Spears of Brantley; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Spears was pre-deceased by his wife, Beatrice Spears; son, Billy Spears; daughter,

Jeannie Gagner; granddaughter, Cherrie Anderson and grandson, Chuck Spears.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2011 from noon until the 2 p.m. service in the Chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Interment will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Jackson. An online guestbook may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes.com.
