Brantley residents may soon get their chance to put the town on the national map, thanks to a casting call for an upcoming TV show.

The producers of Dancing with the Stars, What Not to Wear and Top Gear are currently conducting a nationwide search for small towns that define real life in hometown America, according to a press release from the casting agency.

The casting call will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brantley City Hall.

“I think this is a really neat opportunity,” said mayor Bernie Sullivan.

The casting call touts the show as “a groundbreaking social experiment on a major television network,” and the press release goes on to describe the show.

“We’ll take a small, All-American community, remove the women, and see what happens,” the release said. “We need a town whose men are up for the challenge and whose women are due for a well-deserved break. While the women are away, the men and children are left to their own devices and face the challenge of filling the women’s shoes.”

“They’ll also be challenged to complete a project that benefits everyone in the community. All the while, connections are established, friendships are created, relationships are solidified, and the town flourishes.”

The show has already been a hit in Canada under the title “The Week Women Went.”
