John C. Cook of Greenville passed away on February 9, 2011. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. February 15, 2011 from Indian Hill AME Zion Church with the Rev. Harold Simpson officiating. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services directing. John C. Cook was born on July 18, 1934 in Greenville. He was the son of the late Winford and Verter Bell Cook. John grew up in Greenville for most of his life but journeyed to many other states throughout his lifetime, including Ohio and New York. He was ordained as a minister and was assistant minister at First Bethel Baptist Church in Cleveland. ON December 27, 1964, he was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Eva Marie Person. He leaves to mourn him his wife; sons, John Lewis, Andre, John F. (Connie), Michael, Barry, Antwaun, Latwuan (Jamica) and Darryle and daughters, Rochelle, Lisa and Shanna (Tristen); brothers, Clarence (Cora), Grady, Arthur (Carrie); sisters, Alice and Bobbie (Lee); four aunts, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
