Ruby Mae Brown Stringer, 100, of Honoraville died  Sunday, January 16th, 2011, surrounded by loved ones at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, O’Neal Stringer, parents, Jim and Hattie Brown, brother, Clarence Brown, and grandson, Dennis McGee.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Comer Wilson and Virginia “Ginny” Stringer, three grandchildren, Sandra Burkhalter (Harry), Debbie McGee, and Donna Lucky; four great-grandchildren Brian Burkhalter (Lauryn), Neal Burkhalter (Kathryn), Jenna Lucky, and Tanner Lucky; two great-great-grandchildren, Ansley Burkhalter and Braden Burkhalter, sister, Mary Ruth Ryals, sister-in-law, Wilma Brown, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include Harry Burkhalter, Brian Burkhalter, Neal Burkhalter, Alan Deal, Danny McClendon, and Thomas McGough. Honorary pallbearers include Roger Ryals, Jenna Lucky, Tanner Lucky, Ansley Burkhalter, and Braden Burkhalter. Ruby Mae will be remembered as a God-fearing, Proverbs 31 woman who left her everlasting footprint in the hearts of many.

Her life was enriched by many friendships including those of the members of the Honoraville Nutrition Center. She was an active member of Danielsville Baptist Church for many years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Terry Weeks, Margaret Foster, Stephanie DeFee, and Margaret Penn for their love and care of Ruby Mae in her final days.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, January 18th,  from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Harrison Funeral Home in Greenville.

A service to celebrate Ruby Mae’s life, also at Harrison Funeral Home, will be the following morning, January 19th, at 11:00am, with burial immediately following at Danielsville Baptist Church in Honoraville. Services will be officiated by Rev. William Burns and Bro. Earnest Hudson.
